Ministry History

Our Ministry History: True Believers Outlook Ministry started in the heart of Pastor Ray over 21 years ago. Having been delivered and set free from 27 years of drug addiction and promiscuity, he left Teen Challenge Rehabilitation Center in Michigan a changed man. After going through the program, Ray was promoted to Senior Staff after only 9 months of a 13 month program, showing God’s favor on his life. Pastor Ray felt an urgent desire to help people beyond what he was doing. A door was opened in Chicago, IL for a Pastoral Internship with the Assemblies of God.

In 1995 he left Michigan to serve as Intern Pastor at Southside Tabernacle in Chicago, Illinois under the direction of Pastor Spencer Jones. As Outreach Pastor he started a support group for those with addictions. Pastor Ray ministered to many homeless and hurting people, through home counseling and weekly support groups. He sent many individuals to Teen Challenge through-out the years paying for their expenses. God blessed this group to grow but Pastor Ray was not satisfied.

After completing his internship and serving at Southside, Pastor Ray founded True Believers Outlook Ministries, a ministry dedicated to rehabilitation for those suffering from addictions. God’s favor was upon this ministry as a lawyer Ray had met was so impressed with the vision that he donated his time to incorporate TBOM as a 501 (c)3 ministry. Pastor Ray along with the support of his children, Neoccesha Mudd-Houston, Nicky Mudd-Houston and Cheriamor Houston and other family members began to send men and women to Teen Challenge ministering to a Church without Walls in the heart of Chicago.

God later blessed him to become the Director of Progressive Beulah Transitional Ministry Program. As such he directed a weekly support group session, led the men in closer relationship with Christ and gave overall direction and pastoral counsel for the Transitional Center. At Progressive Beulah under the direction of Bishop Thomas Barclay he was also chosen to start and direct a Discipleship Ministry. In 2008 he along with his wife, Pastor Colleen became the Director/Pastor of TBOM and G.R.O.U.P. ministry home for 4 years. Pastor Ray has a heart to fulfill the plan and purpose of God for his life by being an inspiration in the life of others.
